A love letter to the UK Tabletop Community.
Two Years, Countless Memories: A Thank You to the UK Tabletop Community
As my time in the UK comes to a close after two incredible years, I’ve found myself reflecting on everything this journey has given me—and honestly, it’s hard to put into words just how much the tabletop community here has meant to me. What started as a hobby has turned into a full-blown passion, and I owe so much of that to the people I’ve met, the experiences I’ve had, and the overwhelming sense of belonging I’ve felt.
When I first arrived, I never could have imagined how deeply I’d fall in love with the hobby. Attending conventions like UK Games Expo (UKGE) not once, but three times, was a huge highlight. Those events are truly something special—buzzing with creativity, packed with passionate people, and overflowing with inspiration. Whether you’re a seasoned gamer or someone just dipping their toes into the world of board games, the energy at UKGE is contagious. It’s more than just games; it’s a celebration of community, imagination, and shared joy.
One of the biggest personal milestones for me during this time has been discovering a love for model painting. What began as a curiosity quickly became a creative outlet I didn’t know I needed. I entered my first painting competition—something I never thought I’d have the confidence to do—and the support and encouragement I received was overwhelming. It wasn’t about winning; it was about being a part of something, expressing myself, and learning alongside others who are just as passionate.
Starting my own socials focused on board gaming and painting was another huge step. It felt natural to want to share this growing love with others—online and off. Whether it's sharing a finished miniature, a new favorite game, or just a fun moment around the table, I’ve found such joy in connecting with people through these platforms. It's led to friendships I genuinely treasure—some of the closest I’ve made in my life. People who’ve celebrated my wins, supported me through challenges, and shared countless laughs over dice rolls and card draws.
I’m incredibly grateful to every single person who’s been part of this journey—from fellow gamers at local meetups, to the amazing artists and creators I’ve learned from, to the friends who’ve become family. Thank you for welcoming me so openly, for inspiring me constantly, and for making this chapter of my life unforgettable.
As I prepare to move on, I carry with me not just the games and miniatures, but the memories, the growth, and the sense of community that’s now a permanent part of who I am. This isn’t goodbye—it’s just “see you soon.” I’ll definitely be back, and in the meantime, I’ll keep painting, playing, and sharing the love for this incredible hobby wherever life takes me.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out, stay connected, and—most importantly—keep gaming.
With heartfelt thanks,
BranonsBoardroom
